PEACE = AMAHORO

Thanks, Paula, Sheryl, Wanda, and Antonio, for your recent comments! It’s great to hear from you all.

Does a country at PEACE help MOUNTAIN GORILLAS? I would say so. The children at Nyabigoma Primary School who are participating in Art of Conservation classes illustrate people caring for people in their drawings as a way of depicting people’s positive impact on the environment.

Recently, at Nyabigoma Primary School, Team AoC had the pleasure of speaking with the governor of the Northern Province of Rwanda, Boniface RUCAGU, as well as the mayor of Musanze District, Celestin KARABAYINGA and Director General of ORTPN, Rosette Chantal RUGAMBA. The governor points to a drawing on display made by one of the children and asks me what it means. I happily share with him that the drawing is a result from our discussions on conservation. And with this particular drawing, the student is expressing his view of a POSITIVE impact people may have on the environment – living in peace and caring for our family and friends. Needless to say, all agreed!

    Dear Julie,

    I just sent the previous message to Antony over at Lion Guardians, and I’m sending it to you slightly reworded, because I thought you, and your students too, might be interested…

    I’d like to extend an invitation/FYI to you to & your friends this coming Wednesday at 7 pm, your time, in an international prayer called Wave 1. I don’t know what your spiritual practice is, and it doesn’t matter at all — the idea is to create a wave of intentional healing that will vibrate around the planet, focusing on bringing peace and sustainability to all living beings. I believe more and more (perhaps out of desperation, somewhat, but also I have seen it work, even in small ways), in the healing power of intention, especially when it is at the global level (for more information on this event see Wave 1: http://www.actonwisdom.com/wave1/.

    Please let me know if you are interested in participating in this event. Our group in Tucson, Arizona, will be chanting songs and mantras from various traditions all over the world. We’re a mixed bag ourselves, coming from various spiritual practices & beliefs, cultural traditions, all ages, from 6 to 80+, all colors of the rainbow. If you are interested in taking a moment to pray or meditate or dance or eat yummy food or anything you’d like to do, dedicating that event to happiness and peace for all, and even better, if you do so with friends, please please do so, and please tell all your friends about it, especially your fellow workers at Wildlife Direct. If you are interested in participating, please let me know and we will put you on our world map!

    Thanks so much! Let me know if you have any questions or comments.

    Whatever you decide, I will be holding the heroes of WD, including the people of Rwanda, your students, and the beautiful gorillas in my heart.

    Peace,
    Nancy
